Digital distribution (also called content delivery, online distribution, among others) describes the delivery of media content such as audio, video, software and video games, without the use of other media such as the internet. A production company is mostly involved with the progression and development of a film, however they occasionally involve themselves in the funding of the film too. Although there are production companies that have connections and work alongside distributors, the distributor does not have any such involvement with the production of the film, and exclusively works on the demonstration and presentation of a product. The type of media institution which might distribute my film would be a company such as bloody disgusting, I would have this company as they specialise in horror genres. They have also done films like v/h/s which is popular horror film which had a low budget however have done well. As my film has a low budget etc. I could use lion’s gate as they cover about 80% of films also if I had this one the film could progress more as a larger company is doing it. They also help low budget films like silent hill and paranormal activity to get them popular. However as it is a small production this company is large for it is unlikely to use my film, unless they feel like it would be a good enough storyline. The production company which I would’ve used for my film is bloody disgusting as they specialise in horror genres, they produced films like v/h/s which was low budget like mine would be meaning they’d be an ideal company.
